Kajetan Plis, born 1990. In 2016 he graduated from a cinematography department of Lodz Film School (PWSFTiTV). One year later he started PhD studies in the same department. His films were presented on various festivals and movie reviews (T-Mobile New Horizons, Koszaliński Festiwal Debiutów Filmowych, KTR for Advertising, Berlin MVA, and Camerimage - International Film Festival for Cinematographers). Nominated in 2011 for Golden Tadpole for the short movie „The rest is silence“. Music video for Marika - ‘A jeśli to ja’ - got him the Silver KTR Award for best color correction and another music video - “Samotny Tata” for Maria Peszek - was nominated for Golden Tadpole at Camerimage in 2016.
His main areas of a interest are movies, commercials, and music videos. Director of photography of short movies, i.e. “Great news” (dir. Kuba Gryżewski) and “Noamia” (dir. Antonio Galdamez Munoz, produced by Munk Studio). Kajetan is now preparing for his feature debut.
He works for big international brands like BMW, Huawei, Nokia, Lenovo, Nike, IKEA, L’Oreal, Ballantines, Danone or MoneyGram, to name just a few. He’s also done many fashion movies and music videos.
Kajetan cultivates working on 35mm and 16 mm film stock and he’s very passionate about analog photography. He’s an author of series of analog portraits, which he’s posting frequently on his Instagram account www.instagram.com/kajetanplis
Outside of his film interests, Kajetan is also involved in few art projects. In 2015 one of his installations was presented at Warsaw Gallery Weekend. For the last two years, he was working on a project called “Nostalgia”, focused on collecting old, anonymous amateur's photography, which had an exhibition in W-arte! gallery in Warsaw and Mostowa Art Cafe in Krakow.
